This one literally came out of left field and damnit if I’m glad it didn’t. Described from Pat Lok as an “homage” to Norse god Todd Terje‘s single, “Inspect A Horse” goes beyond a simple remix – and as a rule of thumb, I have immense respect for a producer who remixes with the intent of changing the whole mood, inflection and punch of a track.
Terje‘s “Inspector Norse” (also available below in comparison), originally released back in January, still remains as my #1 track of 2012. Seems like a tough act to improve on, but Pat Lok does the impossible and turns his remix into a club-friendly, classy house heater. This remix is Terje unapproved at the moment, but something tells me Terje, himself will be grinning from ear to ear once he takes a listen to this beauty.
