Here are a few designs that I have found which I will take elements from for the design of the Yahoo Blog
I will be keeping the design simple and clean - white background with a hit of colour; but mainly the Yahoo purple.
I like the simplicity here, and the profile picture and information about the user is on the right. I want to keep as much white space on the page as possible, Facebook design is far too overcrowded.
I like having the icons accross the top of the page and the Logo / Page name is enlarged in a strapline
I like the large header of the page - teenagers like showing pictures of themselves or what they like, Facebook now has a 'cover photo' - this I can use for the blog, making it personal and more about pictures than uncesseary text.
I like how the page is sectioned off.
Here there are 3 large photos sections instead of one large one.
Bold, simple and colourful - there are clear sections. I think this is almost too simple and not very interesting to look at.
Blog contents is in a different section from the background of the page.
Simple layout, too much text for my idea but I was looking more about the layout.
The idea of having large comments next to the photos - a blurb...telling the story - more like an article than a photo album, but maybe this could be an element I need to bring into the blog, to have photo and text combined or at leaste have the option.
Simple, centralised layout of videos.
